Question about 1990-91 Upper Deck Hockey error

Just wondering how rare the Wayne Gretzky and Theo Flurry error cards are.I was at a card show today and
some one had the Gretzky with the Flurry Back and the Flurry with the Gretzky back. I had not seen these
before and perhaps they are very plentiful. But if anyone here on HI could PLMK I would appreciate.it

Never heard of that one before, Camaro, but, based on what I've tried to find out, info on errors and the like in the hockey card world, is pretty tight lipped.

Is that simply a wrong back card? Where the front or back was printed on the wrong sheet? Like blank backed cards.

Thank you.Yes a lot of the hockey collectors keep things pretty close to their chest. Thanks.

It is simply a wrong back. But I would say there must be multiple sheets involved.
It would take at least a few minutes before someone would notice the screw up.
So there must be be more than just this one copy. And it was definitely corrected. Thanks.

Wrong backs are the least valuable errors and not very rare in most issues. Wrong backs are not a printing error, it’s human error. Simply placing the wrong sheets in the run, or placing it in the wrong direction.

If you think about the printer placing the sheets in the wrong order, whether they were printing the front or back. Then every card in every position would have a twin wrong back.

As an error collector I don’t really touch wrong backs unless they are pre-1970 as they really have little value. These would to a Gretzky or Fleury collector as player collectors are the main buyers for these. So essentially, even if these are the only two sheets out of order ever, rarity does not equal value. It’s neat to have the matching pair, but I would personally never pay more than a fiver for a pair like this. A player collector with more drive may pay a couple multiples more, but I have a feeling the dealer was likely pushing the envelope if he was placing these in a place of prominence.

Upper deck has occasionally had problems getting the back and front setup correct.

So more of a design error than a printing mistake.

The problem is that it's usually almost impossible to tell which situation it is unless you have at least a good set of pictures of a sheet.

It seems like it could be a pre-production mix-up on a test printing where they had the backs in the wrong placement.

It's hard to tell, but is the UD hologram missing on the #47 back?
