Kriss Kristofferson

Man, his passing is sad news. One of my favorites of all time. My wife and I last saw him in 2017 perform at the inaugural Johnny Cash Heritage Days concert. The concert was held in a cotton patch at Johnny Cash's boyhood home in Dyess, Arkansas. What a performance. He took the stage with just him and his guitar. He played song after song for about an hour - no band - just him picking and singing. What a talent and performance it was!

The Johnny Cash Heritage Days concert is held each year at his boyhood home in Dyess, if you get a chance go!

IMO his true contribution was as a songwriter. Me and Bobby McGee. The Pilgrim. Lovin' Her was Easier... Sunday Morning Coming Down. The list goes on and on. He was a Rhodes Scholar and it showed. While he was overshadowed by the other three who were cosmic performing talents, his appearances with Johnny, Willie and Waylon (the Outlaws) are classic.

To me his two greatest lines:
Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.
He's a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction.

Principal star in a movie ranked by some as one of the worst ever, Heaven’s Gate, but I liked it

He was older then I expected. Guess that means now I'm older then I expected. Sigh.....

Always thought he was an under-rated actor and artist. I think he could have been a bigger star if he had wanted to be, but was more comfortable in supporting roles...in both movies and music.

Just remembered he was in "Heaven's Gate", which was one of the more bonkers Westerns I have ever seen.

It was controversial in it's time, more for the drama around the production of it...but I think time has treated it well among critics and viewers.

It's an ambitious movie, for sure.

Not for the faint of heart if you're a fan of animals....or stuntmen however. :(

He was fantastic as the flashback Sheriff Buddy Deeds in "Lone Star".

Hi Al, true about Heaven's Gate, but what a performance across from Barbara Streisand in "At Star is Born"!
