New Book on the Moonlight Grahams of the Pittsburgh Pirates
1 Attachment(s)
My fourth book was published yesterday and is for sale on Amazon. It is titled Moment in the Sun: One-Game Players for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The book has 20 short stories for guys who played their only big league game with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The price is just $10.99.
It covers players from the 19th century up until the wild story of how John Bormann played his only big league game. Every game is detailed, along with how they got to the majors, as well as why they didn't get back, though some of those stories are easier to explain than others. Just in case you missed the other books from earlier:
My first solo book was the day-by-day recap from Spring Training to a barnstorming tour after the season for the worst team in Pittsburgh Pirates franchise history, the 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys. I used as many as seven boxscores for some games to fact check as many details as I could find. https://www.amazon.com/1890-Pittsbur.../dp/B0C6W3HKL8 My second book is the biography of Dots Miller, the second baseman of the 1909 World Series champs. Plenty of interesting tidbits from his hometown, his nickname, his life off of the field and every single big league game is at least mentioned in here, as well his Spring Training and off-season games. https://www.amazon.com/They-Call-Him.../dp/B0CV633PNT My third book was similar to the newest one. It's the story of 13 players who were with the Pittsburgh Pirates during the regular season, but never got into a game. Red Faber is one of those players. It also includes Bob Allen from the Old Judge set and plenty of baseball players whose stories were lost to time https://www.amazon.com/Unlucky-13-Th.../dp/B0CY574YNS |
Just ordered. Enjoyed your other books.
