SGC - Forman
 

Its been over 6 months since Collectors acquired SGC. I have a simple question: is Dave Forman still associated with SGC?

Does it matter?

For me, yes. I have asked a few people in the last few weeks and have received conflicting information.

Plus this board is a wealth of knowledge and may have additional insight into SGC.

I am fine with either, just want to get ground truth.

There are people here who would know so hopefully someone will chime in.

There are people who know Dave well and who know. Doesn't mean they want to tell you or saw the question.

I agree. Just crazy that I can’t get truth on this.

Generally speaking the less someone knows about a subject the more they bloviate.

Maybe counting his money.

Perhaps if you were to expand a little bit on why you are asking you may get a response. Only my interpretation but the tone you have taken suggests that there may be a less than favorable reason why you would like to know and that may give some people pause providing an answer on a public forum. A friend of Dave's may not want to share information that would get back to him in a bad way and the same could be said for someone who has an inside line on communicating with him. Just my 2 cents.

This. When I asked why does it matter, the response was pretty evasive. If I were Dave's friend, this would not motivate me to respond.

You could well argue that very little matters at the end of the day. But I somehow doubt that he'd ask if he wasn't at least curious.

Jeremy and Peter, it was a simple question. Why does the reason matter?

Obviously nothing is coming from this board. I will look elsewhere.

It matters for the simple reason Jeremy articulated, that when you are evasive, people who know the answer may be inclined not to give it. Why the secrecy?

Bloviate…..come to think of it I don’t think I’ve ever seen this word/expression used on net54.

When I looked up the definition of this I had to laugh out loud.

As a serial bloviator, it’s tough to bloviate on this one, short of just making stuff up. Not that we couldn’t have fun with that.

I don't know the answer but didn't Park place ask a simple question. Don't quite understand the blowback he is getting. I think I at one time asked a similar question about an official at PSA during the time time they were making significant organizational changes.

He's getting blowback because HE started complaining that he isn't getting an answer, and people are just explaining why.

Were Peter's questions complicated? They seemed simple to me.

On this site bloviating is a feature, not a bug.

Folks, nothing nefarious here. I was asking because I was wondering as part of the CU buyout of SGC if Dave had to remain at the company for a period of time. I hadn’t heard either way (if was still with the company or not).

That sounds plausible. There could very well be some kind of contingency.
