That was really, really cool. Thanks for the virtual tour!!

"Comps? We don't need no stinking comps!!"
I just wish there was some sort of hi-tech 'Price Tag Filter' for videos to blur out the stickers, so viewers can greatly enjoy seeing all of the incredible cards without the sudden "WTF????!!!!!!" reaction to seeing the huuuuuge asking prices plastered on all of the holders, which makes you hate life itself. Something like that. :D:eek::D

Missed that HR derby card!

(Great selection of vintage - but surprised that the crowd was pretty light last night and today)

Great video!

What a lot of beautiful eye candy, thanks for posting! I would be wondering how many people could afford to be putting sets or collections together at $25, $75, $100 a card, let alone at $500, $1,500, $2,500, etc., as on display here? All I can say is there must be a heck of a lot of rich guys in this hobby!

I think it's that and there's a whole lot of cards that are sitting at museum prices.

I've been slowly building a '56 Topps baseball set. Thank goodness I got the key cards out of the way early in the process. At this point, I'm chasing cards like Snider, Ford, and Mathews. It makes the set seem more attainable when I've already checked off guys like Mantle, Mays, and Jackie off the list.

Quick, related post:

Right when he walks in, you can see me with my Net54 (Babe Ruth) T-Shirt. I'm at the bottom center at about the 43 second mark.

Excellent video, how crowded was the show when you went?

parkplace33 09-23-2024 09:11 AM

Also, I am seeing a lot more raw cards for sale than past shows. Is raw all the rage now?

Not to my knowledge. I think there are always going to be collectors who prefer raw cards, but I don’t know if I would call it the rage now.

The turnout on Friday was lower than probably Saturday and Sunday (I didn’t go either of those days this time around). It was very easy to navigate the room. I’d prefer Friday. I arrived 15 minutes after opening and got in right away, no lines.
