Anyone familiar with this Earl Monroe Winston-Salem postcard?

I've done several searches, but come up empty. Based on the copy on the back, it was released after his Senior season, but I'm wondering (hoping) if it was only later that year (1967), which would make it a pre-rookie.

That's all it was selling for ? Just $45 + shipping. If it is pre-1968 Topps basketball Test set card, I would think it should go for more. Get it autographed while Earl is still vertical. Oh hell yeah !!!

From his "Black Jesus" days. I don't think that would have worked in the NBA but "the Pearl" was itself a great nickname. Watch his highlights on Youtube, he was phenomenal.

I own a couple of those but don’t really know much about it either.

On a side note, the postcard states 2,953 points scored, but his online stats state 2,935.

He was also called "Black Magic". I believe he earned that name in the Charles Baker Memorial League aka Sonny Hill League in Philadelphia.

There's a great story in Kareem's booking about a trip he made to the Philly playgrounds and encountering Monroe. Kareem didn't know who he was at the time. People watching the game are chanting "Black Jesus" after every great Monroe move.

You read of course about Baylor's moves, but I think it can fairly be said Monroe was the first to really inject playground style into the NBA. And of course he could do it because along with all that flash, he was a solid fundamental player.

Anyone ever date this postcard. Curious if it’s pre 68 as well.
