WTB: 1923 W515-1 George Sisler (FOUND)
Looking to buy a 1923 W515-1 or 515-2 George Sisler strip card.
Let me know if you have any by thread reply, pm, or email. jchapinswishy@gmail.com |
That’s a fun set. What does “Gorgeous George” go for in this set?

From my little research he goes for ballpark 25-100 in low grade. Very fun card with the yellow and pink. |
I think you'll be lucky to get that one for under $150. Sisler is one of those "dead-ball" era players when it comes to cards - meaning there aren't too many decent issues of him at any point in his playing career, especially in color. Grover Cleveland Alexander is another.

Alright... I've got W515s in a ring binder, and I've not separated them into -1's and -2's. Having looked at them, that Sisler card has the larger image, so it is a W515-2. Sorry if you got momentarily interested in it.
It looks like some kids made a game using the back of some strip cards... at least that's what I infer from the "kill yourself with the knife" on the back. |

Thanks for your reply! I actually don't mind it being a 1 or a 2. I just wasn't aware he had a card in the 2 series that is virtually identical. Would you be willing to sell your card? If so let me know your price. |
still looking...
