Any estimates on how many football (and b-ball) cards were made compared to baseball?

First off, really AMAZING job on the thread that (somehow!) is able to find out (at least rough estimate) how many of each card was made in the 70s and 80s for baseball! But is there a way the same could be done for Topps football and basketball cards in the 70s/80s? I'm pretty sure they did make as many and the sets were smaller...but any sort of specific numbers or percentages?

You could probably compare PSA Pop reports for key cards and come up with rough figures.

I thought i read somewhere that 75% of the cards produced were baseball and then FB/BB/Hockey/NS totaled 25%

I would say if you subtract the late 80s and early nineties, the the 25% number sounds right. of that 25% I would think the lions share would have been football, then followed by hockey and basketball in last.

The non sports issues likely well surpassed the full runs of hockey and basketball

The Wacky Packages outsold Topps Baseball for a time in the 1970's:

I mean why would they not?

Going into a store as summer wanes and being stunned to find the baseball cards are no more, and they have been replaced by the latest football card wax packs.

I guess that would explain this...seriously didn't football and basketball fans like collecting cards?

Some of us definitely did! But there were a lot more baseball card collectors back then for sure.

In the 70’s I was one of a few in my area that collected football cards as a kid. I remember going to card shows and dealers practically gave away their football cards. I even had one guy tell me football would never be worth anything. I told him to give me all your Jim Brown cards😁.

I would recommend looking at the PSA population report, which will provide good guidance.
