Cubs yield 9 unanswered runs and win
 

I guessed Skenes should have pitched more than 5 innings as the Pirate bullpen yielded 11 unanswered runs in today's 14-10 loss to the Cubbies.

Skenes seems to pitch 5 or 6 innings every 6 or 7 days. Is this the new model for protecting a pitcher?

It's probably too little too late but the Cubs scored 41 runs in the three game series and have won 17 of their last 25 games, I thought they were dead in the water at the All Star break.
