Looking for some expert advice on this 1985 Star Michael Jordan card

OK, a good friend of mine recently bought this card.So he was wondering if there is any chance
that the card is real and if the auto is real. So I told him I would ask some vintage basketball
people and get their take on the card and auto. So if anyone can share their opinion it would
be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

The card is not authentic...so you should assume the auto will also be along those lines. What's the story of where/how he got it, what did he pay?

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.I believe that he was pretty sure that it was not the real deal.
But like me he is certainly not very knowledgeable in this field. He did not pay much. It was $30 Canadian so
about $20 US funds. So I guess for that little bit of cash it was worth it just to have. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Agree. That's not a terrible price for a reprint card/auto.

That is what my friend was thinking. And because of where it came from he had no clue. So you never know.
You may get lucky. That is why I ask to people that would know. Thanks a lot for your reply.

Very common reprint on Etsy and elsewhere, the auto is the easiest way to id this one. Here’s a sample
