OT: Having Withdrawal Symptoms From Not Selling Cards

It's only been about 3 months since I stopped selling cards on eBay and I am having withdrawal symptoms.

After selling cards on eBay every night for 21 years, I closed shop. The main reason was that I wanted to focus on my move across country. The move hasn't happened yet and now I am beginning to regret my decision.

I miss checking my eMails every day to see what sold.
I miss the excitement of receiving cards from my consignors.
I miss learning about the business.
I miss the aggravation from bad buyers.
I miss picking up stuff at the shows.
I miss the extra cash.
I miss selling on eBay.

I have been thinking about selling cards again once I finalize my move. It will feel like I am starting over since I will need to find new consignors.

Has anyone else closed their business only to end up reopening because they suffered the withdrawal symptoms just like mine?

This should improve your mood a bit. How about listing the things YOU DO NOT MISS?? That may help swing the needle back towards it being the right decision. :D

I mean, if you miss the aggravation from the bad buyers, maybe you just love it too much to ever really stop. I hate that part but I enjoy the rest of it enough that it's a net positive.

Are you going to move soon or is that still unknown?

Definitely moving. Just waiting to sell my Mom's place. Then will sell mine and away we go.

Howard,

Are you moving to the west coast? I figure if you're in New Jersey and you're moving cross country, then that would be west coast.

West coast is great, except all the politics and stupidity in government, but that's probably everywhere.

You could buy a collection for now and start selling again to have "a little fun".

What if you buy cards and hand them to auction houses to sell.

I am in NJ. I actually meant that I am going West of NJ which is Nevada.

I agree to just sell a few things at a time to keep in the game.

I will be in the same boat in about 1 to 2 years as we are planning to move from the Philadelphia PA area to Green Bay.

Yeah ... what Nice Docter said ... feel free to post your inventory on here and let's see if we can help recapture that feeling!

If you just want to take some abuse, I suspect that some around here would be happy to oblige, free of charge.
