New Member Game Used Jersey Collector (Louisville Redbirds)
 

Hi all! Hopefully this is the right place to post. I'm a new member that has been collecting game used jerseys off and on for 25 years. None of my jerseys are from big name players, I just try to get styles of jerseys that I liked from my childhood (70's, 80's, 90's). I also collect jerseys from the Louisville Redbirds (1982-1998), the AAA Cardinals affiliate in Louisville when I was growing up.

During covid I had a little more free time and really focused on Louisville Redbirds game used jerseys, jackets, hats, and helmets. So far I'm up to 13 unique jerseys and four unique game worn jackets.

As part of my "Redbirds Covid Project", I have also tried to collect all of their scorecards, programs and baseball card sets to help verify which jerseys were worn in each season (and what player wore each number). I have filled in most blanks except their road jerseys in the 80's. There are very few photos of their road jerseys and virtually no color photos. All of the baseball cards in the 80's highlighted the players wearing the home uniform.

Any way, I'm happy to be here and if there are any members that are from the 80's AAA American Association cities that may have personal photos to fill in the blanks I would be grateful to see them. Or, if you also collect Redbirds jerseys, I'd love to see those as well!

Welcome Jack, you goals are very similar to mine as I also chase jerseys from Wichita from the 70’s to the 90’s. I also go after jackets, hats any any championship rings but those are few. Wichita was in the AA from the 70’s until almost the mid 80’s so I selected a few items from this period.

Nice Jerseys Clint! I've picked up a few other AA team jerseys from the Redbirds era. Any idea when the Aeros wore this BP mesh jersey?

I like how most of the Aeros jerseys are recycled from their MLB parent team.

Jack I’m guessing they used those mesh warm ups for a few years. Here’s a card from 1983 with a player wearing one.

Very nice jerseys. I have a 2007 Memphis Redbirds jersey. It has the 10 year patch on the left sleeve. Mine is just one you can buy and not an actual game jersey.

I believe if I dig in my closet I have a red one also. EDIT: Nope the team I have both the red and white jersey is the Peoria Chiefs.
