With the exception of the second 'humps' on both 'M's, the rest of it looks pretty normal, IMO.

I agree. Only thing I see questionable is the 2nd hump in M's. I think too many out there are too quick to dismiss as no good. I wouldn't consider myself an expert but have collected since mid 70's. Just my 2 cents

Compare the "an" on the OP's ball to this genuine Mantle.

The letter formation is terrible, not just the “M”s. The baseline is worse. It is a poor forgery IMO.
