Baseball displays

Was recently traveling and came upon this awesome baseball/sports display at Chicago Midway airport. Post cool and surprising displays!

Snapped this photo of the long-gone National Pastime store in Cooperstown about twenty years ago. The inside was like a small barn jam-packed with baseball memorabilia of every description.

Wow, David, that brings back such a clear memory. You could barely walk around inside that store it was so packed.

Thanks for sharing photo!
David,
Thanks for sharing the photo of one of my favorite places to visit. Sad day when they closed. I do own one of the D&M Trophies that had been displayed in the window. I had the trophy replated by a silversmith to it's original glory. Patrick |
Glad it brought back happy memories for you guys. When I visited there in 2007 I wasn't in to collecting memorabilia; I spent a fascinating hour inside and didn't buy anything. Fast forward a couple of decades and my tastes have broadened to a bit of everything, which is pretty much what the National Pastime served up. Never was much good at prescience. Here's a more clear look at the window. Many of the paintings are works by Arthur K Miller.

David, I believe I've posted this previously, but my dad did two sketches in Cooperstown (exactly 30 years ago, almost to the day)...one of National Pastime's storefront, and one of the HOF's brick facade. After my dad passed away in 2015 we offered for donation (and it was unanimously selected by the HOF's collection committee) the drawing of the Hall. That one sits in Cooperstown, and this one here, sits on our wall at home...
