You planning to stay up late to bid on these, Peter?

In terms of diversification, I have been throttling back on my cardboard acquisitions, so that I can allocate additional resources to other areas. With some of the runup in cardboard prices, a couple of years ago the value of my collection got to be around 30% of my assets, which felt waaaaay too heavy for me.

These days, it's closer to 20%, which is still a little uncomfortably high, but at least trending in the right direction.

Yes, one of the ironies of cards doing well, if you're looking at them from that perspective. I suppose you could just not count them as assets at all and think of them as a nice extra.

When the raw dollar amount gets high enough, it's hard to pretend that they're not an asset. At least it is for me.

Naturally, I have no plans to sell, so it's more of a theoretical construct. But at the same time, there's no question that selling my collection someday will be an important part of my retirement fund.

Well, there's two components to it, right? There's not selling, and there's buying.
