Ramsburg Collection of T206

There have been a great number of ‘Ramsburg Collection’ T206 previously sold or currently listed with Heritage Auctions. Mr. (or, much less likely, Mrs.) Ramsburg had an incredible collection to say the least. Heritage does not give any background on the collection other than listing it as such. I’m curious if anyone here knows the history of this amazing hoard of cards. Having purchased several of these cards, it would be amazing to learn how/when they were collected and how many front/back combinations were amassed in this incredible collection. Sometimes the history of the cardboard is just as amazing as the cardboard itself. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

I was wondering about that history too, and couldn't find any information. Great group of cards.

"In 1983, Anne’s mother passed away, and as an only child, Anne took the news particularly hard. While cleaning out her childhood home in Maryland, and in a moment of weakness, Anne instructed Steve to move the cards from the third-floor attic and leave them on the porch outside, hoping that someone would want them and take the collection away."

Awesome story, thanks for posting it Lobo!

And Sonny, thanks for bringing up this amazing subject...when you have a chance, maybe you could post some of the cards you have acquired from this collection?
