Grace hit .303 and was very durable and consistent, but lack of power held him back from numbers that would have put him into HOF consideration. Similar type numbers as Nick Markakis.

The answer by rats60 was so confident I figured it was correct.
Jeff, do you have a list of who the other top guys were for the decade? I'm curious about it now. |
Stat Muse is a great site.

I love that Dante Bichette and his 5.7 Lifetime WAR is #8 on the list. :D
Someday Stephen King should write a book titled "The WAR that Hated Dante Bichette". |

I never tire of talking about Dante Bichette in the 90’s. 1995 was even crazier. Almost won the Triple Crown, led the league in 5 major offensive categories. WAR equals 1.2 :eek::eek: I don’t even hate WAR. I’ve definitely grown to see it’s value over the years….but WAR sure does hate Dante Bichette. I know he didn’t walk much and Colorado was freaking bonkers during that era, but c’mon man. He must’ve been the worst Outfielder in history. If NL just had the DH, I’d have to imagine his lifetime WAR would be much higher. |
Bo Bichette is already over 15 haha.
|
Dante has 19 Black ink and 81 Gray ink.
HOF monitor Batting 82 (likely HOF’er 100). 5.6 Lifetime WAR Absolutely bonkers! :eek::D |

That’s half an injury riddled season for Mike Trout. |
Props to Mark Grace though. Never led the league in hits for a season, but did did lead the majors for a decade.
Great timing, solid player. I had guessed he might be a possibility, but even glancing at his stats quickly, I thought it must be somebody like Paul Molitor or Roberto Alomar. |
