Lou Gehrig in Goudey Sets

Lou Gehrig was in both the 1933 & 1934 Goudey sets ( 2 cards each), and the 1934 cards even have "Lou Gehrig says" on the front. Any link on here or reason why he was never on any other Goudey Sets ?

There was a thread about this a while back. We don't exactly know the reason why though. Could have had something to do with Licensing rights. Gehrig did have a card in 36. It's his World Wide Gum Card which is exceedingly rare, but technically falls under the umbrella of Goudey. I'll link a heritage listing below of the cards front and back

Prewar cards published an article about it as well.

I don't know the answer, but 1933 and 1934 are, to me, among the best, if not THE best, of all pre-war cards. They are the ONLY Goudey cards to me. I don't care for their other issues. I go right from 1934 Goudey to 1938-39 Cincinnati Reds team issued, to 1939 Play Ball.
