Fanatics Fanfest And East Coast National Same weekend

The Dates for the East coast National in Westchester have been set for some time. Fanatics announced their event last month. It will be interesting to see how much the two events either help or hurt each other. Collecting mostly vintage with a focus on memorabilia I don't think I will vist the Fanfest event. But I will try and visit Westchester on Friday. Anybody else going to one or both next week?.

Does any memorabilia show up at the east coast national? I’m planning to go to fan fest

Hey Matt hit or miss on memorabilia. Some shows I come across some great stuff others I leave disappointed. But gotta be at it to find it.
Anyway always see some old friends and generally enjoy the trip. About 1 hour door to door for me.

But please update on how the Fanatics show went. I think for ultra modern ( lol) collectors there should be some great stuff. And sitting in a conference room listening to Jeter Brady Mannings etc. Talk has got to be
fun for any sports fan. If my grandkids had interest I would go but still to young..

Looking forward to the East Coast National. Time spent in the Hudson Valley is always a good time for me. Love the City too...but would rather sit on a barstool on Bleecker Street and then grab some pizza than shoulder my way through wall to wall humans at the Javits Center.

I’d rather poke pencils in my ears than listen to brady.

carry on.

There is also the Fishtown Card Show in Philly that weekend. It is probably the second biggest show behind The Philly Show in the area now. It will be interesting to see how all 3 large shows being so close each other the same weekend effects them.

One thing is for sure, if you go to Fanatics fest you will surely be out over $100 before you go thru the doors between the crazy priced ticket, parking near the Javits, tolls and gas. Don't even get me started on what used to be NYC

I'll be at the East Coast Friday to see the usual lineup of prewar and vintage guys I look for. I stay away from shiny stuff and overpriced autographs

Tons of free tickets being given out for all of the days. If you want to go and save the $58 just look around. This thing is NOT close to sold out.

Plus, there is a 400 table show south of Pittsburgh this same weekend. Does anyone know about this show ? Is it just the shiny stuff ? Any vintage ? Thx !!!

I went to the ECN yesterday and if you are looking for vintage stuff, it is a happy hunting ground. I found a wide array of materials and ended up with some early Los Angeles Dodgers materials that I have never seen before in 40+ years of attending Los Angeles-area shows.

I attended the EAst Coast National and had a great time. Talked With a couple Net54 members ..sorry I missed Adam... but lots of great cards auto's light on programs but I went with a ticket collector and he got a couple gems. Highly recommended if you have time this weekend. I imagine the show is packed today as weather looks like rain.

My son and I went today and we had a blast; tons of vintage, awesome show.

Exhibitman 08-17-2024 07:37 PM

Fanfest was the exact opposite: 90%+ modern cards, barely any prewar, grotesquely high prices.

Adam, would love to see some photos of your finds from the show. When I lived back east, I went to the Rothstein shows there and seldom found anything relating to LA Dodgers.

Adam, very cool. Never seen that stationary before. I wonder how long the Dodgers maintained the office in Brooklyn after moving to LA.

I've been trying to figure that out but no research success so far.

Rick

The building was demolished in 1958, and then was replaced by a four-story building occupied by banks.

Are you talking about Fanfest? Where/how were they given out?

In any case, I probably wouldn't have gone. I saw Fanfest as a big cash grab, and the Mets were playing at home that weekend. (I went to two of the three games, including Severino's complete game shutout).
