NET54 Reference Book Library Link Dump
There are a bunch of great books being independently published within the hobby right now, and I thought (as long as it is OK with Leon) I would start a link where people can drop the links and titles to their original works, or to MUST READS in the hobby.
In the true spirit of "The More You Know!" (insert GIF here), let's tip a hat to all the folks who are doing the research so that we as collectors know all the gritty details, origins, and "WHY'S" surrounding our favorite sets! Drop a quick synopsis, where it can be purchased and what you are working on next, if there is another reference book in your future! |
re: LEAF
Selfishly, I'll go first and throw mine in there.
re:LEAF is my story of putting together the 1949 LEAF set, folding in my design and product background. It tells the tale of the Leaf Gum Company, the how the cards were produced, and the variations that were made as well as the difference between printing errors and true plate variations. It also answers once and for all, when the cards hit the market. Available at releafbook.com and amazon. |
It is a great idea to have links or other information for all of the fantastic baseball card publications in the market. I know I am interested in purchasing many of these books. My first baseball card book was “The T206 Collection” by Zappala and Zappala. This book is a real treasure and I am sure many of the others like the above-referenced Leaf publication are great reads.
