A group of your favorite cards
1 Attachment(s)
Call me pathetic, but I still "play" with my cards. I make all-time teams with them, put cards that have similar colors together, and of course, make groups of my favorite cards.
Here is a group of my favorite cards. I love the images, color, or both, and they bring me joy. What are yours? (I wish my scanner was wider and could fit all these cards, but it can't, so I just took a group photo). |

I feel the same way, I just like being able to take my cards and enjoy them. Its probably because I have no real way of displaying them, but none the less i do enjoy having them out and holding my favorites from time to time.
Thats a great group of cards you got there. Heres my top 30 favorite cards i own at the moment. (It's always changing it feels like) |
Nice group, Patrick. I especially like your Virginia Leaguers.

The principal cast of Casablanca if you are wondering. |
What a movie! Just watched it again a few days ago. The scene where they sing La Marseillaise chokes me up every time.

Here are some of my favorite cards that I have images of right now. Some are sentimental and some are just favorite cards. Value really has nothing to do with why they are in this picture though.

+1, it is a great movie.
I didn't get it at first, giving this a cursory glance. I thought the top left was Jack Kelly, and middle bottom was Hugh Downs. Then I put my glasses on. |

Might have posted this before, I forget, but so do you guys! Found in my Grandpa's "Underwear Drawer" after he passed.
I knew that he smoked Piedmonts and chewed, but I NEVER knew he had these... ALL Polar Bears... NEVER TO BE SOLD... |
Some great cards posted.
Greg, that's an incredible story about finding your Grandpa's amazing Polar Bear cards! Andrew, I love the rainbow of 1920 W516-1 cards. I googled "Save your tablet fronts and win a prize. L.A. Becker" It was suspected by at least one collector Ms. Becker was a school teacher who offered this contest to her students, and that the writing has been found only on the ten cards from this series. There may be a many as 7 of each subject. Is that the same story you have about the cards? |

Yes, Ed and I have communicated many times about these cards. He has several more than I do currently and some day we plan to get together with our Becker backs to see if any of them "fit" together and can be identified as being from the same strip. He has a Peckinpaugh example and I don't (yet). And we are both on the lookout for the other two from the sheet although neither of us have ever seen one. Thanks for the kind words. Those are some of my favorites. Andrew . |

Fun thread, here's a few...

I did this for a blog post once. I think the group would be the same if I chose today.

Nice groups shown.
Here are a few cards I got that were raw, in small groups. The T206s still are... https://luckeycards.com/e104x2.jpg https://luckeycards.com/t206x4.jpg |

Inspired in part by "Zach Wheat's" post. Holiday misspelled at the bottom.

I take my stuff out to play with all the time, as well.

IF ONLY I KNEW before he passed - he KNEW my brothers & I collected cards, but I was the only Grandson who liked "that old stuff!" |
