1970 Topps Information/Images Needed
Now things get more and more vague....
1) Any images or information on wax cases. Also, I have wrappers "Insert/Camera" and "Poster/Ring" - there have to be others. Boxes came in insert, booklet, scratch off and poster versions - did the wrappers as well? Will post most of the sheets and a wax case tomorrow but I’m pretty sure the insert box you mentioned is OPC not Topps, see below. John

Wax cases. As far as I know the only two wax pack fronts I have are the poster insert and then the insert in each pack
|
Thanks!
The one wax box I was able to get a code off of is the scratch off - it's got a 403 number. I assume that the other three box types are 401, 402 and 404, and that these 2 cases held two of them. |
I have the poster box, code is 1-401-37-01-0

Wax tray. Don't remember where I saved this from, maybe BBCEX website. Have a different version too but believe it's a fake as looks like 1974 tray so not going to post

I know you didn't ask for series 2 sheets but thought this was cool. Proof of the 264 card sheet(s)

This pic is from an exhibit about the 1960's at The Alameda County Fair, and I thought I'd post it here in case you (or anyone else) could use it in some fashion.
There was no signage indicating what year it is from, but (perhaps contemporaneously) "4th Series" was written in pen on the box... Attachment 627742 |

Series 5 left and right

Missing 1970 series 7 right half, only have left with Bench and Nolan R.

A question about inserts - I've watched several YouTube videos of 4th series pack openings, each of which revealed a scratch-off, which jives with what I thought I knew, that these were mid-series inserts.
I was told a while back that the posters were in early series, and the booklets in the later series. Does anyone have any memories which can further refine this assumption? Thanks! |

Here is the image I grabbed - other than the header lacking the larger round hole, is there something else you see?
The same header cards, bearing a 1970 code, were used 1970-1973. In 72 and 73 they appeared like this - no large hole. But the other 70s and 71s I see have the large hole. Is it out of the question this sort couldn't have been issued in 1970? |
Yes the “tire tracks” between the sections aren’t the right type for early 70’s raks

Good enough for me - page updated.
