1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Score Card Dating

3 Attachment(s)
So I have a 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers home score card unscored against the Boston Braves. They opened the home season against the Braves which obviously was Robinson’s debut. Of course they played multiple games at home against the Braves during the season. Is there any way to date the score card to a specific game? Maybe the Braves lineup? Any info appreciated.

Doug is a great resource on this. You'd probably need to compare rosters from each series and see who is missing when.

Thanks. I found a previous question discussed on here and looks like since Mort Cooper is not listed on the Braves it cannot be the April 15th game. No need to search further as all the others are worth about the same depending mostly on condition.

This scorecard would have to be from a game after June 15. It features both Al Gionfriddo and Hank Behrman listed on the Brooklyn Dodgers lineup.

Behrman, along with Kirby Higbe, Dixie Howell, Cal McLish and Gene Mauch were traded to Pittsburgh on May 3 for Al Gionfriddo. Over a month later on June 14, the Pirates returned Behrman to the Dodgers.

The Braves part is hard to read, but Voiselle is on their roster, which agrees with Matt's Dodgers transaction info.

Which leaves :
June 26
July 5-6
Aug 12-13-14
Sept 20-21

I do not have programs from any of those games, but I do have programs from games from some of the homestands, and the rosters change slightly, based on those changes, I would bet on the August series.

Thanks. The wealth of knowledge on here is amazing. I mainly wanted to be sure it was not the debut card which I did not think it was but big difference in value between it and one from an August game. Still, a neat rookie year score card featuring Robinson.
