Pwcc

Perhaps it has been their practice, and I just haven't noticed, but PWCC is now charging, along with sales tax, a 2.9% fee for using a credit card in payment. This additional fee, along with the BP and high shipping costs, makes buying from them just too much. Do other auction houses charge a fee for using a credit card?

Seems like others are doing it now. Restaurants here local (VA) give you the option to pay with cash or credit card plus credit card fee ($$$) 🤬 now putting that cost on us 🤬

I think that’s pretty standard practice for PayPal and credit cards.

The laws on charging to use a credit card has been changing over the years. It used to be against the law in most places to charge extra for using a credit card. That is why places offered a discount for cash. It was the work around for charging a fee to use a credit card.

I can't wait for the next PWCC thread in this saga, probably in 3-5 months.

I first heard this while in college - and still find it funny every time I hear it.

Does PWCC even auction baseball cards anymore, seems as if they have moved to the super hot world of 1880 Oligarchs of Europe.

Yes, Peter, I did say and mean it. I learned about the charge from a friend who plays the PWCC game, won an item, paid with a debit not credit and got charged, I believe 2.5%. Currently, I am sticking with Heritage, REA, LOTG and SB1. 'Nuff said, no popcorn.

We'll see what Fanatics does with it after rebranding.

They're the ones that added the CC fees though. There were no fees before they announced the rebrand a few weeks back.

I miss that short period of time between PWCC getting banned on EBay and the hobby backlash where people refused to do business with them.

For a few months their hosted site auctions had some of the best deals during the most recent price explosion era. Picked up some stuff at pre-2019 prices.
