1973 Topps Part II
The last of my catch-ups before moving on:
1) Sheet images needed: Series 1 - 66x2, Dodgers team in upper left Series 2 - 66x2, Breeden in upper left Series 5 - 132 sheet 2) Grocery display trays/case/pack images - all we seem to have is a small ad from a sell sheet to even prove they existed. 3) Cello Case image 4) Rack case/box images/information 5) batting glove/umpires clicker images 6) Vending case/box images Codes, those I have, and those I need: Wax Case: 403-73 Wax Case 660: Wax Box: 1-401-37-01-3 Wax Box 660: Wax Wrapper (4): 0-401-90-01-3 Wax Wrapper (660): 0-401-90-01-3 (in red) Cello Case: ? Cello Box: ? Cello Pack: 0-368-58-01-2 Rack Case: ? Rack Box: ? Rack Pack: 1-991-93-01 Grocery Case: 491-73 Grocery Tray: ? Grocery Pack: ? Vending Case: ? Vending Box: ? Wondering whether there any code differences at all between those products issued in series and their counterparts issued all 660 at once - it surprised me that both variety of wrappers have the same code (the 660 version simply being in red). Thanks as always! |

Dave Hornish speculated that the 1973 5th Series 132 card slit probably doesn’t exist because they didn’t need it when Topps switched over to printing all 1973 series at the same time. They combined the 1st Series and 2nd Series on one 264 card super sheet and combined the 3rd Series and the 4th Series on another 264 card super sheet, they would have just left the 5th Series 264 super sheet like it was. I think he is right. ETA there is proof that those 1973 1st Series and 2nd Series 66 card slits existed through miscuts.
