June 4 was the 50th anniversary of 10 cent beer night in Cleveland that resulted in the game being forfeited by Cleveland because of a riot in the 9th inning.

Hard to say which was a worse idea, this or disco demolition night in Chicago a few years later.

Disco Demolition might have caused more damage to the field and the stadium but 10 Cent Beer Night was much worse, it had players fighting with fans on par with the Malice At The Palace.

It was the 70's and times were different, physical fights were the norm but rarely if ever fatal.

Seems pretty wholesome and harmless compared to the recent KC Chiefs Super Bowl celebration where a woman was murdered.

I'll take the 70's anyday....
