Auction irregularities on ebay
On May 21st, I won 3 1953 Topps PSA cards on ebay. Requested an invoice and promptly paid. Almost as quick I paid, my order was canceled. That evening, all 3 items were relisted as auctions with higher starting bids than my high bid.
ETA: Seller touched base with me, explained the situation and resolved concern. |
That's a shame but nothing surprises me in this industry...people can ultimately do whatever they want with their stuff...sad.

That's sad. I've bought thousands of dollars of cards from SMR in the past and always thought they were a class operation. However, I can't see any reason for canceling auction results. That seems wrong to me.
I guess they wanted to set all their auction prices above market value to see if they could get someone to bite on an initial bid, but someone on the staff set the numbers too low. Compounding their mistake by apparently lying about it by claiming a technical error is not a good look. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk |
Sorry that happened to you Larry and I'm sure it's frustrating.
With 57,000+ sales, eBay will unfortunately let SMR or any other seller at that level do pretty much whatever they want. It's all about the $$$ in the end. |
Contrast this to Greg Morris who starts everything at $0.79
