1959 Fleer Ted Williams

I've been slowly assembling a set of the 1959 Fleer Ted Williams cards. I'm currently at 75% complete (60/80) and it seems like every time I run across a few cards, they are never the ones I need.

Does anyone know how they were printed and if there were any SPs, or even just cards printed at different quantities - barring the #68 'Ted Signs' of course.

I've seen several 15 card uncut sheets, but nothing bigger that would give a hint to relative printing numbers.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I don't have a complete sheet in my archives. 1959 Indians and 1960 Baseball were 80 card sets (with 1 pulled in 1960) also and don't seem to have SP's. I did not believe there to be SP's while building the Williams set (beyond the pulled card, which is much more common than its price suggests). The POP report doesn't indicate to me that there are patterns of DP's or SP's (https://www.psacard.com/pop/baseball...williams/37470). I would think 1 card was probably DP'd for part of the print run, to get an extra card out of a sheet when they pulled #68. But opinions don't mean much.

I have 2 15-card panels which are different. For reference here is an earlier N54 post

and here is the link about the finished article from SABR regarding the same topic:

Greg, 'Zach', thanks for the info and the link to the SABR article. Nice detective work.
