FS: 1934 Goudey World Wide Gum Babe Ruth #28 PSA 3
Price Reduced to $16499 obo - PPFF/PPGS+3%/Venmo/Zelle - Priority shipping included (Continental US)

Small abrasions left of stately stance (paint is perfect), great eye appeal, solid centering. Rare Goudey World Wide Gum 1934 in the famous '33 Goudey yellow 54 picture. Corner wear consistent with 90 year old card, bottom right corner may be the softest (my opinion).

Clarifying: Small abrasion is not a crease, light surface abrasion north of hands and left of stance. Else, this bad boy would be grades higher.
Additional pics added! It is hard to get the abrasion on camera but took a ton of pics and uploaded the 2 it shows the most (i.e., the worst). Happy to make videos, facetime/video chat but can't upload video (too large).

In no rush to sell but rather to find a good long term home. Going deeper into T206 and 50s collections.

Population of 10. For sale, not looking for a trade on this one, sorry guys.
Comes with Phantom Display case ($20) value free.

Last week, sold a easy deal of a spare T206 Ty Cobb Red PSA 4 to a buyer on the forum.
Located on Northshore of Chicago if anyone is local.

Holy smokes! I just have one question . . . how can that be a 3???? Just the latest under-graded card of the month, right?

BrooksRobinson 06-01-2024 10:31 AM

It's the best card I own! Hard to part with it but I have other goals and it's the only way to make it happen. I've been too nervous to crack and resubmit but maybe someone out there has the guts to do it.

Surface abrasions, according to the auction description.

Isn't "surface abrasions" just another term for scuffing? In any case, I'm just not seeing it.

Huggins and Scott April 2024.

A series of surface abrasions to the left of Ruth's stately batting pose does little to distract from this gum card's overall presentation.

Maybe light scratches there? I think I see a few kind of horizontal scratches that don't even break the surface.

Until proven otherwise I am going with Huggins' description. As we all know, scans don't always show defects.
