Goslin HOF plaque
I happened across this in eBay's sold listings. Goslin is one of the rarest of the gold HOF plaques, especially so front-signed. This was listed for $248.88 and sold on a best offer! That seems ridiculously low, but if there's any chance this was actually authentic, the buyer got the steal of a lifetime. Does anyone have any thoughts as to the authenticity of this signature?

I am not a fan of it.

And, there is no way to know whether this example was even the one in the group that the LOA represented. Goslin is worth $4K or so in PSA's price guide. Seller listed it for about 5% of that value and accepts a lower offer than that. Even if I liked the autograph, which I don't, I would be very skeptical. But, perhaps the seller had no idea of the value of an authentic one and the buyer was indeed an astute autograph expert. If so, yes, it was a steal and will be individually authenticated and sold for a very nice profit in the future. |
it was an older cert when you look at who the authenticators are that alot of auction houses used to go for. I need that one for sure. Autograph could go either way IMO

Goslin
If real...a Goslin in that condition would sell for over $20k if not more. I sold my Jimmie Foxx front signed yellow about 5 years ago locally for 10K. A Campy front signed with "aid" sold for over $6K. If you look at his sold auctions, you will see that it had been sold 2 different times and returned.

Thanks for the replies, I figured as much but wanted to be sure I didn't have to kick myself for missing out.
