1984 Topps Information/Images Needed

Hi again -

With regard to the 1984 Topps set:

1) packaging information or images of grocery pack boxes or cases would be great.

2) Images of a Tiffany Set case or at least information on how many sets per case

3) Image of REGULAR (non-Tiffany) traded set case - 100 boxes?

4) Anyone win one of those batting gloves? Description or image would be nice.

5) Anyone have a winning game card showing a grand prize? Or, anyone actually win a trip and able to share details?

6) Printing sheets - there's a lot out there but nothing great - usable, but pretty ugly images. If anyone has any of the 6 available in good images it would be appreciated.

Thanks as always!

I don’t have a 1984 tiffany set case photo, however 85,86, 87 all came in 6 box cases like this

Thank you!

Now - can anyone tell me where this might have come from? This is front and back of same card listed as an insert at TCDB.

I have a stack of those still, they were random inserts in packs

Really? I did a LOT of ripping that year and never saw one. In fact, when I found these images on TCDB the other day was the first time I knew they existed.

Wild what there still is to learn about some of these sets.

Always thought the '84 set had great photography. And that Mattingly and Strawberry would make me rich.

Actually, this question has come up before and I just remembered the answer. If you look at the fine print, the offer is only valid in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. So just as it took me forever to find out that 1983 Topps actually came in wax packs because I grew up in Michigan and never saw a wax pack for years. These were a regional offer for packs distributed in those states.

So common for us Michigan folks, but for the rest of you...not so much. :)

Anyone know what this is? The most I can find is that this was a "test issue localized in the mid-west"...was it actually marketing some way?

Were all sheets included? What of the 4 cards dropped to allow placement of the logos?

Thanks.

Page is up - As always, I appreciate any information that can correct/update/enhance what I put out there.

These were a store giveaway during the same time the Lenticular cards were on the bottom of the slurpee cups. I can't remember the why, perhaps on July 11th for 7-11? The stores were sent a certain amount for giveaways so the natural state is flat, not rolled. Perhaps someone out there has a newspaper ad or flyer to tell the date and reason.

Anyways, here is a seller with a full store case of 60 sheets - https://www.ebay.com.my/itm/145655927933

The mail in offer was also around in some form in Mass.
It led to some stuff going on. It was intended to let people complete sets without having to buy hundreds of packs. (weird business choice)
Instead what got ordered was the stars and rookies or near rookies.
And it turn, Topps produced special sheets to make the cards that had multiples of the same player grouped together unlike a regular sheet with only one of each player.
I saw one of the sheets, couldn't afford it, and eventually ended up buying a piece when it was broken up into mostly strips of three.

Now that you say that, somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind, I do seem to recall reading years ago that Topps had run into the issue of "gosh - we had no idea people would only order Brett, Reggie, Ryan, Carlton, etc."

Not very well thought out.

Any plans to mention the 'Super' Topps issue that summer?
