Milton Bradley Babe Ruth game

Found this out in the wild yesterday. I never knew this existed. Seller wanted $475 and i kind of wish i would of looked a little more closer at it. If it was complete i kinda feel it may have been a "ok" price for it. Pretty cool item.

Basically anything authentic from the Ruth era is worth a small fortune, or so it would seem.

Game

I noticed his sign referenced 2 Babe Ruth games… if I can read that correctly. Was there another one? By the way, that price is pretty much in the ballpark of retail for that game…. have seen it many times before, not one of the rarer ones but still it’s Ruth so….. condition is fair but still a nice piece. Maybe make him a lower offer?

Yes, the little sign did say 2 games. It was behind a locked glass case. I didn't see the seller around the booth the whole time i was there. I may go back next weekend and take a closer look....I kind of hope its sold if i go back so i cant be tempted.

'Babe' Ruth's Baseball Game (Milton Bradley, circa 1929-36) has earned a wide range of prices for examples
in a wide range of conditions, but yeah, $475. for what Mike "Aug06" is showing would easily fall within that range.
Mike, do you know whether or not that game is indeed complete?
There are two versions of it, by the way -- the US version, using 85 cards (no spinners), and a Canadian version,
using spinners (no cards). And there are two versions of the box-lid artwork (nothing to do with US / Canada).

"Nice Docter" Rocky, did you mean 'did the vendor have another example of the game?" or did you mean "are there
other Babe-endorsed games out there?" Just for the record, then, there are at least seven different games
that appear to be endorsed by the Babe, plus another half dozen or so that allude to him while technically
avoiding the use of his name.

I don't know if it was complete. I was around the booth for about 10 minutes and nobody came around. never saw the seller. The yellow sticky note mentions "2" games so i don't know if there is a mix of 2 games in the box or not. At this point my curiosity is peaking even more.

The yellow tag reminds of "Comic Book Guy" on The Simpsons, "Please keep your greasy fingers off the comic books." If they're inside a locked glass case, the only way the game(s) get damaged is by the dickhead seller himself.

Very true, my first thought when i read that was that they guy was just looking for a reason to blame someone for some sort of damage.
