Ebay " expert " question

Question on ebay bidding

If you look at a persons bidding history , and see a tremendous amount of - bid cancellations ...

Isnt that a sign of... Im not sure ?, shady bidder, guy who makes a lot of typing mistakes, a shill bidder, a smart guy playing the angles .. ???

I think they are a shady bidder. One or two is one thing but I have seen some with over 100 retractions.

If they bid on any of my items and retract their bid, I generally add them to my blocked bidder list.

Mike,

Mike,

Same. They certainly aren't "shilling" when they're doing it to MY auctions.

Just causing chaos and generally disrupting things. I think a few of these schmucks use it as a strategy to sow distrust in an auction, and then swoop in and get it for cheaper.

Whether it's a sound strategy or not.......I do not honestly know. It is angering however.

I haven't had it happen to me in awhile....but I also am not running as many auctions as I used to. It used to be frustratingly common.

They carry a hundred parasols, that's how shady they are.

I have never canceled my bids. I have hit the add $1 more option 20-30 times in a row to make it look like I am bumping up the price.

Items with a lot of bids on them become "hot" and ebay increases their chances of being seen in search results, though.

The few times I have tried it I honestly don't think it made a difference.
