Thurman Munson signed Yankees Pennant Photo

Hi guys, I'm looking to frame this and find a quality Thurman Munson photo to accompany it. What would everyone recommend for the photo?

It depends upon whether you want to go with a vintage (Type 1) photo, or a glossy color photo that's not necessarily vintage.

The original vintage photo would likely be black & white, and will cost a lot more money to obtain. Plus, you will be at the whim of what is available at the time (since they're not mass-produced). But you will have a rare and desirable vintage item to match your vintage pennant.

If you opt for a color contemporary photo, you will have much more to choose from. Basically any pose you can imagine... Batting, Catching, Portrait, Posed, Action Shot, etc. If you go this route, you can simply search eBay for "Thurman Munson Photo" and find dozens of choices. Expect to pay $5 - $7 dollars plus roughly $5 shipping.

Hope this is helpful.

I think something vintage like a Real Photo Postcard, J.D.McCarthy or Dexter Press postcard photo would like nice next to that.

I like this idea....possibly mat it with postcards of all three players

Think I am going this route with the Topps run.

Never realized it till now but Munson never had a goofy looking card ,
That’s unusual for someone that played through the 70s

Pennant looks great. What happened with the cards?
I think 70 or 71 Yankee clinic day postcards of the 3 players would 1- Fit in frame 2- Extra size would give it more pop.

I actually like it just the way it is. Sometimes "less is more" and having the pennant alone in the frame keeps it simple and beautiful. I actually think that adding cards within the frame would make it look "too busy" (at best) and sloppy (at worst). Perhaps you could display the cards on a shelf situated just below the framed pennant.

You want peoples' eyes to focus on the pennant itself, as it could possibly be the only one Munson ever signed. Just my .02 of course, but I think you did a stellar job matting and framing it.

Nice display!

Thanks guys! After going over things with my framer, we went with the let the pennant be the focus, and the red matte really pops it out.
