Consignment preview REA
For first time I consigned a pretty nice card to REA and received a link to a consignment preview, which is I assume the catalog write up of my item for me to review. What a cool service. Sure some consignors might drive them crazy nit picking it, but I’d never seen that before and have to say very nice. I’ve had some AH make small tweaks for me after the fact but this was the first time I received such a full early look.

I believe that Heritage provides this same service as well.

The consignment preview is a great service. I had a few items consigned to the February Encore auction. I wasn't thrilled with the write up on one item so I emailed and asked them to add a specific point about the item to the description. I got a reply in less than 30 minutes showing the description had been changed and my notes about the item added. I can't ask for better service than that, which is why I keep using REA.

I just did my first consignment with REA back in February. I also really enjoyed the preview, but I found that the link didnt work the following days after I originally clicked on the link. Dont know if anyone else had that issue.

No doubt REA is a 100% class act. But other AH’s provide similar service.
I recently consigned a large portion of my collection to Memory Lane. Joe and team worked with me regularly on descriptions, sharing write-ups and ideas for the catalog layout. I have also seen pre-print parts of the catalogue with my consignments, most notably my 1914 Cracker Jack, t206, and D304 set breaks. I knew Memory Lane would do a good job, but they have far exceeded my expectations. As a consignor, I have had good experiences with Heritage as well (regarding collaboration and feedback), and I know Al of LOTG and Brian of Mile High will gladly take ideas and suggestions. |
