FS: 1891 Cabinet Photo John McGraw with Cedar Rapids
 

FS: 1891 cabinet photo of very young John McGraw on the bench with his Cedar Rapid Canaries team mates. This is 100% McGraw and players on either side of him are Bill Hoffer (later pitcher for Baltimore) and Henry Fabian (later well known as longtime NY Giants Polo Grounds groundskeeper). This photo was taken just a couple of months before McGraw went to Baltimore to begin his big league career. The writing on the back is most likely done by John Godar, Cedar Rapids player/manager. Incredible early McGraw artifact.

Size is about 4-3/8" x 5-3/8".

Comes with original 1892 Illinois-Iowa League booklet titled Constitution & By-Laws, also containing league stats (including McGraw).
