Raleigh, NC Show this weekend (Feb 23-25)

Hi all you Raleigh area folks! Anyone going to the show this weekend? I see they have a one hour early admission tomorrow starting at noon. I think that's something new. Anyway, here are the hours:

Friday Early Admission: 12-1pm ($10)
Friday General Admission: 1pm-7pm ($5; 12 & Under FREE)
Saturday General Admission: 9am-4pm ($5; 12 & Under FREE)
Sunday General Admission: 10am-4pm ($5; 12 & Under FREE)

I think I might go tomorrow and/or Saturday. If anyone can make it, let me know!

Anthony

I may go tomorrow before the ECU @ UNC baseball game although weather could change plans...first pitch already pushed back to 5:00 from :4:00...If weather is a mess Friday, I will attend Saturday.

Not much to report from the show today, but I did notice more tables of vintage and less new stuff.

Was there decent vintage there? I'm in Winston-Salem (~2 hours away) and considered it, but wasn't familiar with this promoter. I used to go to the shows in this same building that Inside Pitch did in the early 2000's all the time.

If I was only 2 hours away from a big show I’d be there. If there’s not much vintage then at least you know it’s not worth the trip next time. I drive 3 hours each way to the White Plains shows and 5.5 to Philly shows. 2 is nothing.

Yeah, a decent amount of vintage for sure. Not too much pre-war, but lots of 50’s-70’s stuff. One dealer had a bunch of higher end pre-war, lots of Cobbs and other pricey cards. Like most shows, not too many deals that I saw, but maybe by tomorrow some of the prices will come down.

Maybe not quite that big, but we have regular vintage shows here, as well as in both Salisbury, and Hickory, NC - an hour or less away. I used to go to Raleigh when they were pretty much the only decent show in the state - but that's not the case anymore.

Between Raleigh, Salisbury, and Hickory are they all about on par for graded 50’s inventory? I haven’t made a trip to NC for a show yet but would like to, closest I’ve been was Chantilly.

I've only been to Salisbury recently. I'd say it wasn't on par with the vintage inventory that I was used to seeing in Raleigh more than a decade ago, but it was decent. I saw everything from Goudey Ruths and a '51 Bowman Mantle to 70's and 80's common boxes.
