Help needed! Large HOF signed baseball collection (not mine)
Hello.
I am posting this in hopes of finding some help getting pointed in the right direction... Last weekend I saw a collection of signed baseball that I would estimate to be ~300 signed baseballs. It is a family friend whose husband passed away a few years ago. I never met the guy but he seems to have been an organized collector. Primarily HOF players. Some balls inscribed. I collect cards but can say the collection was impressive. There are binders with LOAs/COAs. I counted about 50 that were JSA/PSA and then a high number of some NJ/NY companies that I had not heard of (I assume now out of business or bought up). I am not interested in buying the collection - I am simply trying to help. For someone who is wanting to sell the collection what are the options? The owner has zero interest in selling individually or herself. I am guessing to really get a decent idea of value I would need to take a day to do a very high level inventory (i.e., 3 Barry Bonds, 2 Hank Aaron etc...). The problem is my time is limited right now and I am not interested in acquiring a 300 baseball collection. I have reached out to REA with pictures and have yet to hear back. Would smaller auction houses be more interested in such a collection? If so any suggestions? If you got this far - Thank you! Any help is appreciated! Nick |

They could probably sell them through Pristine Auction. It’s an easy process and I have sold lots of stuff through there. They sell a lot of baseballs. There’s lots of other auction houses that are similar it just depends on the signatures that they have.
