History about the piece: I believe this poster is from the late 1950’s (likely 1959) as I’ve researched the Mickey Mantle Rawlings Model MM6 Baseball Glove product release.
It was first introduced in the 1959 Rawlings Catalog. Rawlings partnered up with Delco-Remy (a division of General Motors) to give an opportunity for fans to purchase a
Rawlings Mickey Mantle Autographed Baseball (Model 60CC) and Glove (Model MM6) for $5.95 ONLY with a Delco-Remy Tune-Up. This poster would have hung up in a select
automotive repair shop or car garage that would encourage motorists to come for the service and afterwards purchase the Rawlings Mickey Mantle Autographed Baseball and Glove.

A mention of the existence of this specific poster is documented via The Sports Collector’s Digest website titled “Mantle Series Part II – Display Ads Pt. II” dated November 5, 2009.
Part of the Mantle Collectibles Guide Series. Many of the photographs from this multi-part series, including a remarkable number of one-of-a-kind pieces, came from the Mickey Mantle Collection of B.S. Alpert.
