Help with baseball plate
2 Attachment(s)
Sorry for the poor photos, but I just picked up this baseball plate. The seller indicated that they believed it was turn of the century but I’m just not sure. There are no markings on the back that I can tell. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

for sure
Id say its for sure turn of the century but not sure which century. Maybe an antique dealer could shed some light but would probably need an "in person" look to be sure. Nice image tho....

That is a nice looking plate. The picture of the player is similar to the Ruth Called Shot stance.

Nice touch how they have baseballs worked into the design around the rim.

When you have it in-hand, post a few pics on the Memorabilia Side. The provided pics are way too grainy and poorly focused to determine anything. It could be a modern piece and it could be authentic/of the era. A lot will depend upon the type of paint and whether the glaze exhibits aging, crazing, yellowing, etc.
Regardless, you'll get a more informed response once higher resolution pics with better close-ups are posted over there. Best of luck! |

Maybe 1990's. You can pick-up the matching golf plate for $7 + shipping...

It's neat looking. From that first picture it looked old to me. But then again, I look old to me too!

The plate arrived today. Here is a photo of the front of it. I do believe in seeing it firsthand as well as the golf examples on eBay that this is probably a modern plate and is not vintage. I still hope to find an example online somewhere with the manufacturers info on the back as this one is completely blank on the rear side.
