Major comic book question..amazing fantasy 15
Looking on ebay...why do people buy individual pages for 1000+?

comic question
Larry- I'm a comic collector for 40+ years. I can tell you that single page
collecting is a relatively new thing, as CGC now encapsulates single pages. People usually acquire these from ultra valuable books like early Detective or Action, because complete encapsulated copies are really costly. That way, the collector at least has a "page" of history. Again, not my ball of wax but there you go. There's nothing "suspicious" about this practice, it's pure economics at work. Trent King |
Comic question 2
Larry- I glossed over the Amazing Fantasy 15 part of your original header.
Yep, AS 15 is the true first appearance of Spiderman, it has skyrocketed in value. That explains the single page purchase. Trent King |
It looks like you can get more money selling 1 page at a time

Larry- I've not analyzed it that closely. Sad if true, but I'll never need
to concern myself with it. I buy comics whole:) Trent King |
I think their thinking is that allows someone who couldn't afford the entire book to own a piece of history. I think it's stupid, but it's a thing.

Yeah, I don't get it either but the major key single pages do sell. I couldn't bring myself to take a book like that apart...
