If you didn't hear, or read, ebay is reducing staff "to become more nimble."

Classic Dilbert business speak, less employees doing more work than prior before to cover the work loads of the laid off workers.
Certainly sounds 'nimble". |
Ebay not hurting for money. They are doing just fine on that front. Instead of taking care of the employees that got them there and looking to actually make improvements to the parts of the platform that most people shell out money to them for, they are making a cynical play to boost their stock price, which has been stagnant as of late.
I did NOT sign an NDA! That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. ;) |
Doing more with less. Ask the Navy how great that concept worked out. Stupid, idiotic. I have been saying for a while now that eBay was going downhill. More and more modern trinkety or reprint garbage shows up for every old vintage thing you search for, radios, railroad stuff, baseball cards. I understand there's just so many of these things, but I think sellers are moving on to other venues to sell stuff.

When I heard recently that they were "focusing on their vault service" I knew things couldn't be going well.
