Old Judge Tom Poor Man prices

Does anyone know of sales prices for the Old Judge Tom Poor Man Milwaukee version card?

Thanks,

David

Shouldn't trade at much of a premium to the regular card. I would value a copy with a decent image at about $600-$700.

Thanks Jay.

Old Judge cards look to have increased in value more than I had thought.

The card I am looking at has a decent image but has back damage and the layers at one corner are starting to split.

The card in question

This Poor Man card was in an auction that ended this afternoon. There were 12 cards in the lot; 10 were Sweet Caporal actress cards, one was a Joe Goss Mayo Cut Plug card and the Poor Man card. The lot sold for $150 (plus premium, shipping and handling).

I didn't go hard after the card because it looks to me like the photo is separating from the backing at the bottom of the card. Was I wise to stay away or did I let a decent deal go by?

It was a no brainer at that price point with the Mayo boxer imo.

You should have bought it.

That is common wear for thin albumen photo stock on a thick cardboard mount (which is what OJ’s essentially are) and I doubt there is any significant peeling beyond that spot from what I can see

This was in Maine correct? very small auction - we had a left bid so will see

have not heard we lost or won yet - we like boxing too, so it was worth the look

Thanks for everyone's advice and information.

It looks like I screwed up twice with this matter:

First, I shouldn't have asked about the value of the card while the auction was still active. I tried to see if there were any recent sales and couldn't find any. I also looked at the Old Judge book to see what info I could find there.

and

Second, I shouldn't have been so timid and conservative and bid more for the card even though I thought the condition would have hurt the value more than what it looks like it did.
