Recently acquired this letter for my collection. I am glad this guy can make up some heartbreak with some baseball!

The letter is a personal correspondence from an individual to someone named Maddy. The writer expresses frustration and disappointment because they went through significant trouble to rearrange their work schedule, only to learn that Maddy has canceled a visit. The writer seems to feel that Maddy has had a sudden change of heart, and this has left them in a difficult emotional state.

The writer struggles to understand Maddy's feelings and seems to be seeking clarity on the reasons behind Maddy's decision not to come. They also suggest if it would be possible for Maddy to visit before the mentioned Saturday, hinting at a desire to still see them despite the apparent cancellation. There is a sense of urgency and emotional turmoil as the writer contemplates the situation.

In the second part of the letter, the writer empathizes with Maddy's feelings, indicating that they too feel overwhelmed at times. The writer plans to attend a baseball game to watch Joe DiMaggio play, seeking some reprieve from the current emotional stress. The letter ends with a note of hope that they might see Maddy sooner rather than later, despite the confusion and uncertainty of the plans, and it is signed with love, indicating that despite the frustration, the writer still cares deeply for Maddy.
