Marty O'Toole Pittsburg(h) Pirates
Anybody familar with him? Have a card of his?
Born in Mass. (my error he was born in PA, grew up in Mass.) Played for Cincinnati in 1908, then for the Pirates from 1910-1914 and finished with the NY Giants also in 1914. He was baseball's highest paid pitcher in 1911 (the original check is at the HOF).....yet turned out being a bust. Was he baseball's first bust? https://sabr.org/bioproj/person/marty-otoole/ |
Here's one he shares:

Two versions of his m113.
The Boston caption was released in March 1912. Not sure when it was reprinted with the NY caption. |

Awesome Martens card.

Thanks, guys. Here is the back. I put together a low/mid-grade set of the D304s about 15 years ago. Liked the cartooney style. The O'Toole is the only Martens in the bunch
