DSG Graded Cards
So I’m looking at an early 60’s card and it’s graded DSG 6. I’ve heard mixed things about DSG and am more concerned about them not catching altered. I personally would crack the card but want to get the boards opinion before I look to purchase it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jabe

You should be worried about PSA catching altered as well. They're terrible at it.
I've never heard of DSG, or is that the Dallas card show grader? |
Dallas Card Show Grading is DCS and the people who grade for them are very good and want their grades to translate to the bigger companies at the same grade level

For those who care (or don't) here is the website for DSG

Rich,
I think DCS is a different grading company than than DSG. I have not had any experience with either. |
I dug a little deeper, and they put a barcode on the back and it will direct you to imperfections they found. Maybe worth a shot. I’ll prob crack it bc I want it signed

DSG Graded Cards
Since all grading is a subjective discipline, and as long as current practices continue always will be - know that all graders miss both altered cards, and fake cards. It’s happened myriad times at graders most have actually heard of (PSA, SGC, BGS, CGC...) I would imagine it occurs even more with those we haven’t.

Not sure what the card is, but be aware that it will not go through eBay authentication at all. What you see is what you get.
There is no authenticity process for cards graded by unaccepted grading companies. It is one of the many ways to avoid the third party review. |
