New PC

I decided not long ago that I want to do something different. A "History of Topps" PC if you want to call it that. I'm trying to get 1 PSA graded card from each year of Topps from 1951-1991. I decided to stop at 1991 because that is when I think they started using a different card stock and wrapper. I may continue it to 1992-present at some point, but wanted to start with the 51-91 stuff.

I'll update my progress in this thread. If you have any cheap PSA slabs for years I don't have yet, I am interested. At some point, I may go back and turn this into a HOFer from each year.

1951 -
1952 - Duane Pillette PSA 3.5
1953 -
1954 -
1955 -
1956 - Hank Sauer PSA 5

That is a very cool project and you have 1952 listed twice.

Great PC plan! Since it seems like you are currently wide open on player and grade, you might consider COMC.com to fill a bunch of years at low prices. I just did a search of PSA graded cards for the 1960s and 1970s, and you can pick up a decent PSA card for most seasons in the $4-10 range (cheaper than the cost of grading in most cases). There are even 4 years in the 1950s that could be had for under $10/ea. Then, you just have one shipping charge to deal with when you are ready to ship them all home.

That could be an option, but there's something about tracking them down on forums, shows, and shops that seems like the way to go on this one. Maybe if I start striking out with finding them, I'll go with COMC.

Big Dog,

Cool way to collect! I've never thought of doing it that way. Have fun and keep us posted on your progress.

I have a few more on the way. A 65, 66, 67, and 75. Still looking for others that I need

Nice project. If you do change it, I really like the idea of making it all Hall Of Famers!

Neat project! Are you going to stick with the base sets only, or are you going to include the offshoots like 1975 Mini, 1968 Game cards, 1965 Embossed, etc.?

For now just the base set. I want to do early Bowman and 1 card from some iconic sets like 48 Leaf when I finish Topps
