FS: Lou Gehrig Ken Wel 632 Zipper back - one of only 3 early style gloves known in the hobby with the rope looping on the back!! Very rare!! Asking $5,700 Zelle.

Can you give a little more history on this?

Its an exceedingly rare Ken Wel Lou Gehrig 632 store model glove. There are currently 7 known examples in the hobby, and only 3 known examples have the rope looping.

Interesting! So is the “rope looping” the white string on the back to the left of the zipper? Also, is there a Gehrig facsimile signature on the front? Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t make any words out on the front.

I'm curious as to what might have caused such extreme creasing. I'm not sure I've ever seen that on a glove before.

Below are pics of someone else's Ken Wel Gehrig glove. Has similar creasing. I haven't done anything to my glove since I acquired it.

My early Ken Wel Gehrig glove is a very well documented in the hobby. Yes, the looping on the back confirms that it is one of the three early examples in the hobby. As for the signature on the front, it is not visible. If it were visible, I would be valued at at least double of my ask. Let me know if you would like any additional pictures or video. Thanks.
