A few oddballs from my collection
I have a few odd cards that I've acquired over the years in my pursuit of Indians cards. Bob Feller was/is my favorite player of all time and he has some unique cards out there. They were before my time, but thought maybe I could learn some history on them if anybody has any knowledge to share.
I believe this one is fairly rare with the coating still on it and I understand it's a set that is "non-sport" https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...nt.jpg?v=84348 This one, I know nothing about tbh. https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...-2.jpg?v=84348 https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...ck.jpg?v=84348 This one is tiny curious if anybody can tell me about this set. https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...-8.jpg?v=84348 another card I don't know anything about, would appreciate any wisdom. https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...03.jpg?v=84348 |
Neat stuff Dan. The 54 Topps Scoops set has 4 baseball subjects. Feller, Ruth, 26 Inning Game and Braves go to Milwaukee. There are 154 subjects in the set and many if not all can be found with or without the coating on your Feller. And the coating can sometimes have written directions about removal of the coating. Those seem scarcer. I think penny pack cards always had a coating but nickel packs usually had only one card with the coating
I have the Ruth and Feller with and without , but the other two baseball subjects just without. I have one unopened penny pack That 1949 R3O2 is sure a good likeness. Who is that other player on the card ? . Are you mostly a Feller collector |
Dan, nice cards. I never saw an example with coating still on it. Also, this was the first time that I saw Bob Feller referred as Bobby.
