N154 Presidential Baseball Club / Online source for Old Cardboard magazine articles?
Is there any way to read old issues of Old Cardboard online? I saw an article I'd like to read:
Glenn Mechanick, "1888 N154 'Presidential B. B. Club:' Mixing Politics and Vintage Cards," Old Cardboard Magazine, Issue #17 (Fall, 2008, p. 13-18) |

I recall a dealer had them at the Chantilly show for $1 each some years ago.

The (2008) Old Cardboard article lists 21 subjects. I believe we're now up to 23 subjects, with one more Cleveland and one more for Morton.
Here's the 23 cards I'm aware of. The first two rows show cards with the straight wording (12 cards) and the bottom two rows show cards with curved wording (11 cards). The cards are lined up in columns with similar poses. Note that the two Cleveland cards in column 6 are very similar, but definitely different! Interested to see if anyone has a 24th (or 25th ......) subject they might share? |

The article also shows just the one H814 cabinet.
I think that we know about at least 4 examples - the one shown in Old Cardboard, plus a trimmed cabinet shown below, plus the 3 known examples in the CSGB World Tobacco Index (minus one overlapping example). The CSGB descriptions 1,2,3 correspond to poses in columns 3, 5 and 2 respectively. The two person example listed by CSGB could be either of the cabinets shown here. I'm sure there are more cabinets out there. Can anyone post another example? |

I paid $10 a couple of months ago, and nothing but crickets since then. Anyone happen to have the Dietsche Postcard article? Issue #8 (Summer 2006, p. 31-36); 1907-09 PC765 Dietsche Postcards: Gateway to Pre-War PC Collecting by Robert Silverman |
I ordered one a few months ago and received in about 2 weeks.

Thank you everyone for the great articles and photos and links to the cards.
Since purchasing this one, I have really started to find these very interesting due to their uniqueness, age and obscurity. My lone card is on its way back from SGC. It’s pretty well abused but I’m happy to have it. |
